Tibetan Bowls are being heavily used for various purposes and benefits across the world. Sound therapy is widely used in the Tibetan cultures by using bells, bowls, tingshas and horns.
There are 5 Buddha’s carved inside these Tibetan bowls. Gautama Buddha, Siddharta Gautama or Shakyamuni Buddha are all different names for the simple and more widely known Buddha. He was an enlightened teacher and Buddhism is based on his teachings. In Hinduism he is believed to be an avatar or reincarnation of the Lord Vishnu. Of the 10 reincarnations of Lord Vishnu, Buddha is believed to be the 9th and the most reincarnation.

As per Dalai Lama, chanting Om Mani Padme Hum can transform any impurities in body, speech and mind into the pure state of body, speech and mind as that is of the Buddha himself.

By holding the bowls in your hand and playing them, one can benefit by the vibrations of the sound that can help the human body at a cellular level.
Using sound bowls helps the brain in switching from the usual Beta state to the Theta state which is more beneficial for the human body.

How can you play the Tibetan Bowls?
- Hold your Tibetan Bowl on the palm of your out stretched left hand. Try and point your fingers downwards.
- Hold the wooden mallet with the finger tips of your right hand and your fingers pointing downwards.
- Gently tap the mallet on the outer rim of the bowl and then maintain contact while moving the mallet around the bowl. Alternatively you can also start without the tap on the bowl but this is usually achieved after some practice.
- Once you start moving the mallet around the bowl, you should hear a low sound. You can increase or lower the speed and you will notice a change in the sound that the bowl creates. Move the mallet at a speed that seems pleasant to you.
- Always move the mallet in a clockwise direction as this is the direction in which our charkas move and also the correct spiritual direction to move in.
- Practice makes perfect so do not give up if you cant maintain the contact for long or the sound does not appeal to you just yet.
